We are an Auckland-based luggage, bag, and accessory store. We are part of the Home Essentials Group who also own Home Essentials and Cookware.nz and we deliver happiness nationwide every day. Born from over 30 years working in the travel industry (pre the cookware industry) Carry is focused on helping kiwi travellers find the best value luggage for their needs.

We love the combination of an online store and a physical store; it keeps us close to our customers and that’s vital to us.

Our story

Welcome to Carry

When we bought Home Essentials a few years back now we always knew that we would eventually open a luggage store. Travel is in our blood. As well as working in the travel industry for many years we have both travelled extensively for work and play (a lot of the time with four or five kids in tow) and have a real eye for the practical and reliable when it comes to luggage.

We developed a real passion for how travel can enrich one’s life but also a real understanding of how important good quality luggage is. We’ve burst enough bags, ripped enough zips and broken enough wheels to be able to find brands whose products will last. Even if they didn’t, we stand by all the products we sell.

Like our cookware business we fundamentally believe that people should buy once and buy well and that it shouldn’t cost the earth and in line with that our purpose is to help kiwis find the best quality luggage for their budget. We do this by stocking a limited range of the best brands from around the world and keeping our prices as low as we possibly can.

While many of our competitors are moving to online-only stores due to the high costs of retail our store is a critical part of our offering. We absolutely love the engagement it gives us with customers. It enables us to showcase our products but more importantly affords us the opportunity to connect with like-minded customers every day and that is important to us and our business.

Stock

Although we are a small family owned and run business with
finite resources we do try and stock a broad range of products in our store and warehouse. If we don’t have a product in stock when you order it, we will do everything we can to get it as fast as possible for you.

All of our suppliers (apart from one) are New Zealand based with their own warehouses and we receive
deliveries from them every week so if we don’t have it, we will get it quickly.

Our team will always reach out to you if it’s not in current stock to ensure you know when it will arrive (mostly within 2-3 days).

Dispatch Information

Ships 2-4 days – we pick these products up from our local suppliers twice a week and then send to you.

Ships 5-8 days – we order these products from our suppliers in Australia twice a week and then send to you on the same day they arrive in our store.

Special Order – This product is ordered as a one off with our European suppliers. They can take a few months to arrive. When you purchase we will be in touch with you within 24 hours to discuss.

Pre-Order - This product is currently out of stock or soon to be released by our supplier. Buying today will secure your order from our first delivery. We would usually expect these products to be in our store within 10-14 days. When you purchase we will be in touch with you within 24 hours to discuss.
